In 1882, apple farmer Andrew York discovered his soil and climate were ideal for growing grapes – thus the venerable York Mountain Winery was born. Built of local stone, hand-formed brick fired on the premises, and timber from a Cayucos pier, York Mountain is the area’s oldest continuously operating winery.
