Towards the end of a sunny road, nestled among some very old oak trees and enormous madrones, you’ll find a central coast wine-making treasure named York Mountain Winery.
In 1882, an apple farmer named Andrew York found that his soil and the climate he was lucky enough to live in were, together, the ideal conditions for growing grapes. It was at this A-HA moment of Andrew's that the York Mountain Winery was born.
York Mountain Winery was built of hand-formed brick and regional stone and is the area's oldest continuously operated winery.
