The grapes for this wonderful Cabernet were grown on the West Ridge of their estate vineyard in Livermore Valley. The White Crane 2002 West Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels for 17 months. Intense, ripe fruit, with a hint of oak. Chocolate and ripe strawberry flavors. Excellent balance and finesse. Nice chewy tannins with rich, long finish. As with the East Ridge vintage, this wine is drinkable now, but will age well over the next 10-15 years.
