This is a red wine that you are truly going to enjoy! Terra Valentine's 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine of distinction in the Spring Mountain area of Napa Valley.
Established as a named American Viticultural Area in 1991, Spring Mountain is known for its red grapes. The Spring Mountain district was noted, in the mid 1960s, as the area holding the most responsibility for creating a mystique about Napa hillside grapes, more so than any other vineyard in the area. Spring Mountain red grapes are legendary, and 81 percent of the vineyard acreage in the area is dedicated to the growing of just this type of grape. And of all these red grape varieties, the Cabernet Sauvignon varietal makes up the lion's share of the areas total harvest.
This region, lying just north of the town of St. Helena, CA is dominated by small-sized, often hand-cultivated vineyards on layered terraces and sweeping meadows. This region's some 20 wineries are hidden and nestled among dense forests and steep winding roads. Despite the fact that Spring Mountain is so off the beaten path, this region has produced a number of award-winning wines that have been recognized for intense flavors and delicate, well balanced tannins.
Terra Valentine's 2001 Cabernet was created using 100% estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The aroma of this wine starts with a rich mix of dark, ripe fruits followed closely by hints of bing cherry, blackberries, licorice, cocoa beans, and the sweetness of caramel.
The mouth of this wonderful wine is a bright fruit in the beginning with balanced acidity and rich creamy cocoa tannins at the finish.
