2005 Melodia is another wonderful blend by the Locatelli Winery. Old Vine Zinfandel and estate-grown Petite Sirah come together in a 50/50 blend to create this very fruity old-vine Zin. It's the concentrated flavors of boysenberry and juicy blackberry, as well as luscious raspberries, and dark cherries that make this wine a delight! And peppery tannis add an extra layer of complexity. This is a juicy wine that pairs perfectly with meaty dishes like barbecued burgers, ribs, and grilled steak.

The owners of Locatelli Vineyards found their 100 acre property just north of Paso Robles, in the beautiful Santa Lucia foothills. And with the help, and the vision, of Reuben Gruber, one of the owners' fathers, the property was transformed beautifully from vast cattle land to 40 acres of glorious vineyards. In 2001, Locatelli Vineyards changed their name to Locatelli Vineyards & Winery.

The vineyard varietals harvested at Locatelli are mainly Merlot, Petite Sirah Cabernet Sauvignon. However there are additional plantings of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Muscat Blanc and Petit Verdot; it's these additional varietals that give the winemakers flexibility to create some very wonderful blends, including this very special 2005 Melodia.
