This wine is a wonderful blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is the fourth bottling of the Cuvee' 32 made in the classic tradition of the great wines of Tuscany.
The wine was aged for a total of twenty four months -the first twelve months as components and the second twelve months as a blend. The grapes were grown entirely on the Estate Geyserville Ranch. The Sangiovese block was planted 40 years ago by Leo Trentadue.
On the nose the wine opens with intense black cherry aromas, ripe plums and exotic spices. Further aeration reveals additional layers of brown sugar, molasses, blackberry and a hint of mint. The mouth feel is broad, balanced with medium to full body with impression of sweetness, ripe berry fruit and cocoa.
The normally higher acidity of the Sangiovese comes through counter balancing the softness of the Merlot and the roughness of the Cabernet Sauvignon suggesting a wide range of food pairings. The finish is medium to long with ripe, sweet tannins.
