With the fresh appearance of golden straw in color, and a slightly green hue, the aromas of Huntington Cellars 2005 Chardonnay are tropical pear, green apple and a whisper of vanilla. The flavors are fresh and distinctive with brightly punctuated pear, apple and lemony citrus. This is a perfectly balanced Chardonnay with bright, fresh fruit flavors shining through owing to the neutral oak cooperage.
The Huntington Chardonnay is crafted from two Sonoma County appellations: the Russian River and Alexander Valleys. The Russian River Valley is recognized as one of California’s top cool-climate growing regions for Chardonnay, producing aromatic flavor characteristics ranging from pear and apple to peach and nectarine. The Chardonnay from the Alexander Valley is from the Stuhlmuller vineyard, whose unique terroir creates Chardonnay fruit with classic Alexander Valley tropical characteristics, food friendly citrus acidity, and a distinctive mineral touch.
