The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon by Chateau Julien Winery has a chocolate edge with smokey flavors, black currant and vanilla aromas. This wine is delightful!
The moderate tannins in this Cab coupled with its complexity and texture all lend themselves to the wine's excellent structure and round finish.
This wine is produced solely from the winery's Monterey County grapes. It's the vineyard’s slightly warmer daytime temperatures and the cooler nights that contributed to the grapes' full flavor; resulting in a fabulous wine for us all to enjoy!
The 2002 Chateau Julien Cabernet was aged for 25 months in 60% new French Nevers oak barrels. Just a touch of Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes (about 7%) was blended with the Cabernet grapes to add complexity.
