Every month we put together a panel of wine tasters that travel to all the best wine producing regions of California, tasting literally hundreds of wines, and only approve a handful of them for consideration as one of our featured wines.

We taste the bad wines so you don't have to!

Our wine tasting panel visits the wineries and vineyards, talks with the owners and wine makers, and tastes the wines at their source. They also regularly attend wine tastings and special release events to stay on top of the newest trends and best wine releases available.

The wineries that we visit are typically small, family-owned wineries with limited wine production and local distribution. We try to stay away from large wineries that have wide spread distribution, because we don't want the wines that we feature to be readily found on chain grocery store shelves. The idea is to send our members wines that they could not normally find without actually visiting the winery's tasting room or dining in a restaurant local to the winery itself.

Each wine is judged on the individual wine taster's personal perception of that wine. When we come across wines that rate "excellent" as judged by every member of the panel, we accept that wine as a candidate for inclusion in our wine club.

Our panel of wine tasters changes with each trip and includes a mix of both experienced wine experts and novice wine drinkers. We intentionally mix novice and experienced wine drinkers to keep our tasting panel as broad a collection of wine tasters as our membership is.

We have found that our diversified mixture of wine tasting panel members consistently gives us the competitive edge on our competition by ensuring that the wines we choose will be enjoyed by the widest range of wine enthusiasts, not just one person!
